CCL Label recently implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 for its finance departments in record-breaking time based on a modern and flexible approach to project management and minimal cost/time inputs.
This allowed the implementation team to prove that ERP software projects don’t always take a long time and don’t have to be expensive – a future-oriented success model as opposed to outdated project management approaches and bureaucratic project structures!
Given its high-profile customers, such as Coca-Cola, Schlumberger and Schwarzkopf Henkel, CCL Label GmbH is one of the big global players in the packaging industry. As an innovative company, CCL Label repeatedly demonstrates its outstanding innovative strength – as in the case of the joint project management approach adopted for the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2.
The foundations for the extraordinarily successful go-live on 1.8.2014 were laid after just a single three-day on-site workshop in mid-April. Since the implementation, Microsoft Dynamics has met all of the requirements of CCL in the area of finance at its Hohenems site.
Our consultants were able to provide the customer with a fully functional Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 system after only minimal coordination work. Instead of clarifying in detail every single parameter and its implications in the course of endless discussions, CCL Label trusted in the expertise, the consulting skills and the many years of experience of our consultants, particularly in the project-critical areas of financial integration and solution architecture. This enabled our consultants to leverage the maximum benefits for CCL Label on the basis of minimal consultancy inputs.
The initial on-site workshop was followed by several two- to three-hour online sessions over the course of the project implementation period during which open issues and questions were addressed in a targeted and efficient manner. Besides the site in Hohenems, CCL Label’s second site in Austria, in Völkermarkt, was also involved in these activities. Despite the geographic distances between us and both of CCL Label’s Austrian sites, it was therefore possible to achieve numerous synergy effects which will greatly assist the Völkermarkt site to prepare for its go-live at the end of the year.
Above all, the key to this innovative project management approach has been the extraordinarily high level of commitment demonstrated by the customer. The staff at CCL Label have frequently been actively involved in evaluating the new software product, fine-tuning the setup in conjunction with our consultants, and simulating their own processes in the new system. This proactive approach enabled staff to quickly get to grips with the system. As a result, they were ideally prepared for the go-live and are now looking forward to the implementation of additional modules and features at CCL Label.
The go-live itself was a huge success and Robert Hubalek, Head of Finance & IT at CCL Label in Hohenems and Project Leader for the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 implementation, was impressed by the project deliverables:
A change of ERP systems on this scale represents an enormous challenge for us. That is why selecting the right partner was a key decision-making criterion. During Phase I (financial management module implementation) we received outstanding support from the employees at Solutions Factory, fully in line with our expectations. We are therefore very confident about the future course of the project and are already planning the next project phases.blockquote>
